How do you randomize teams for a card break?
Load the teams and run one Race. The finishing order is the draw: the team that crosses first goes to spot 1, second goes to spot 2, and so on down your buyer list. The result is decided before the race starts, and the link replays the identical order for anyone who opens it.
Every random team break comes down to one moment the whole room is watching: who got which team. A spreadsheet shuffle or a randomizer clicked off camera answers it, but buyers only see the result, and whoever drew the team with no rookies starts asking how many times you clicked.
A race makes the draw the show. Each team becomes a runner, chat watches them cross the line, and the finishing order assigns every team in one run. Then you post the link: anyone can replay the same race to the same order, which is a receipt a screenshot never was.
Lining up teams with spots
Keep your buyer list in spot order: the order people bought in, or the order you randomized them in. Then read the results from the top:
- 1st across the line goes to spot 1
- 2nd goes to spot 2, and so on down the list
- The full order is listed at the finish, so nobody has to note it down mid-race
A buyer with three spots holds three lines on your own list. It is the teams that race, so repeat buyers never collide in the draw.
Randomizing the buyers too
Some breaks randomize both sides. Race the buyer list first to set the spot order, then race the teams. Duplicate names are merged when you paste, so list a buyer with several spots once per spot, numbered: Amy 1, Amy 2, Amy 3. Two links, both replayable, and chat watched both happen.
On stream
Add the browser tab to your scene or share the window. A full 30-team race runs well under a minute, which is long enough to be content and short enough that nobody leaves. Leave the sound on: there is a countdown, a starting horn and a crowd at the finish.
Break sizes
Up to 18 teams free, and up to 30 on the paid plan, which holds a full MLB or NBA random team break in one race.
NFL and NHL breaks have 32 teams, two more than one race holds, so they do not fit in a single draw.
When something else is the better tool
- You run 32-team leagues. One race holds 30 teams, so an NFL or NHL break will not fit in a single draw.
- You need the platform's own randomizer on record. If your marketplace requires its built-in tool for breaks, use that and keep this for giveaways.
How it works
Load the teams
Paste them, or tap MLB or NBA.
Race them on stream
Chat watches every team cross the line.
Read off the spots
1st goes to spot 1. Post the replay link.
Put it on your own site
Teachers put it on a class page, leagues on their league site, streamers on a giveaway page. Paste this code where you want the picker; your visitors use it free, with no sign-up.
Questions
Can buyers check the draw afterwards?
Yes. Post the link in chat or in your break notes, and anyone who opens it watches the same race finish in the same order. The link proves it replays that draw; running it live is what proves it was the only one.
How many teams can one race hold?
Up to 18 free and up to 30 on the paid plan. MLB and NBA breaks are 30 teams. NFL and NHL are 32 and do not fit in one race.
What happens if I paste 30 teams on the free plan?
Start offers the paid plan, or to run only the first 18, and says how many teams would sit out before you press it. For a full break you want the paid plan, since a team that sits out is never drawn.
Does it work on Whatnot, TikTok Live or YouTube?
Yes. It runs in a browser tab, so it works anywhere you can show a window or share your screen. It does not connect to your account on any of them.
